EdEx, the “WHY” of Mathlexia

Welcome to the MAXLEXIA™ Educator Excellence satellite series! Here we will explore the ways in which we can:
  • effectively reach and teach dyslexic students in the classroom
  • build and maintain self-esteem and self-confidence in vulnerable students
  • be able to recognize dyslexic students, particularly in math
  • optimize teaching methods and maximize every dyslexic student’s academic success!
The term Mathlexia was created as a result of my experience working with clients with dyslexia who were chronically struggling in math.
It is a compilation of learning profiles that is primarily characterized by dyslexia, but which also encompasses other learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, anxiety and depression. This EdEx series of podcasts and online courses will delve into all things Mathlexic and examine how educators can best led their students to academic success! This first podcast, “The WHY of Mathlexia” focuses on three main components:
  1. Moving from desperation to celebration with a new dyslexia diagnosis
  2. Motivation and inspiration to see dyslexia in a new and positive light
  3. Celebration of dyslexic brilliance and the intuitive math abilities associated with it.
